Introduction
February marks Black History Month in the United States. The committee of Bibliophile Banter felt that it was only apt to begin this month with work written by a Black author. Shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and winner of the Goodreads Choice Award for Historical Fiction, The Vanishing Half tackles heavy hitting topics including colorism, identity, and domestic violence in a poignant and beautifully written novel.
